Waiting….
This hurricane business is just crazy. I can’t believe how much it is affecting me all the way on the other side of the world. Many of the folks that I work with are in Houston and the stories are just crazy. It seems that everyone has settled just now but now we just wait…. that’s all we can do. For the last two days we’ve done a lot of ‘what-if’ talking… what if the servers are destroyed, where are the back-ups, what can we do with what we have outside of Houston. … but it’s all for nothing as we have no idea what is going to happen. Now we all understand how important disaster recover testing is(yes, we really do this regularly) . Most of our plans for next week are contingent on the situation. I really really am just hoping that the whole thing just completely dies. Even for the efforts of getting out… those long drives… so what. Just MISS!!
Wow. I can’t say that I miss being there… it’s scary. Anyway… I’ll be watchin’ and prayin’… as is the rest of the world… really. EVERYONE is watching.

And so it did, Rita pretty much missed Houston. Some of the other towns were not spared. But thanks be to God..it moved east sparing Houston of devastation!
