I am a Language Expert.
In addition to my functional work responsibilities at work, I have become somewhat of a subject matter expert. The subject being the English language.
Here is an excerpt from an IM session I had this morning:
Zoltan/Eur… Hi Jessie! May I have a question?
Jessie/E… Good morning! Certainly you may!
Jessie/E… Shoot.
Zoltan/Eur… OK. Question is: what is the good expression to use for a cat that no longer poops in the room but knows the place to go for “flushing buffers”?
Jessie/E… The cat is potty trained.
Jessie/E… Or…
Jessie/E… I think you can say that the cat is house trained.
Jessie/E… It’s ok to use potty-trained though.
Zoltan/Eur… OK. and it ain’t no slang, is it? I need to give this translation to Fiona, so I am not supposed to use the language that we often use, you know… ;->
Jessie/E… :)
Jessie/E… Yes. This is not slang.
Jessie/E… My cat is potty-trained.
Jessie/E… Or… I am late today because I am potty-training the cat and she had an accident this morning.
Zoltan/Eur… hehe. that’s cool!!!
))
Zoltan/Eur… okay. thanks a lot. see ya l8r.
Jessie/E… No problem. Anytime.
Jessie/E… byee
haha I know, I know. It’s a tough job to train these guys up on the important stuff. But I am up for the challenge. haha

I enjoyed that entry!

Lately I’ve been in this bad habit of speaking with a Hungarian accent to all the Hungarians I know.
For instance–>
Some Hungarian: Hallo.
Me: See-ya!
S.H.: Today how are you?
Me: Thanks, yes. And you, are you doing?
S.H.: Thanks, it is cold to summer.
Me: I am thinking, yes too. Will you holiday in this month?
S.H.: We are not having money enough for travel. My wife says this.
Me: To you, leaving wife is not an option, family very much.
S.H.: You have the right way.
Me: I so thought.
S.H.: I go, hi!
Me: Jo, jo…jo.
I’ve been told they understand it better. Figures.
