!Yo Diggity!

Merry Christmas to you all!! Hopefully this finds you all having just a wonderful Christmas… hopefully you are surrounded by family and friends and really celebrating the incredible reason for this season! Though I am sad to be so far away from my family this Christmas, I have been blessed to be able to spend it with the Seely family. I came to Törökbálint, a suberb of Budapest, on Friday evening and have been here since. It really has been an eventful and festive holiday season! The Seely’s have really taken me in and made me feel like one of the family - as usual. They are truly my family away from my family! Check out on their website the events of the last few days….

Lots of people have dogs here in Budapest and it seems that there might be a shortage of grass. I know this because there is poo all over the sidewalks. I have been here for almost a year and a half and I never had an ‘accident’. Well it finally happened.

The worst part of it is that I was on my way to a birthday party. Good thing here is that it is customary here to take your shoes off when inside someone’s house. Most people even have loads of extra slippers for guests. Needless to say that I left my shoes outside for the duration of the party. Alles gut!

My lovely Mac computer has this functionality called Photo Booth. It takes pictures of whatever is in front of the computer and can do these funky looking pictures. Last night, the Seely kids and I went at it!! Check these out! Sooooooooo funny. Wow - hours of entertainment pleasure!

I took Hungarian classes for the first six months that I was here. I tried to take them once again this ’semester’ but was not able to because of meeting conflicts. I think I will pick it up again in Feb. We’ll see. However, that doesn’t stop one from learning. The folks at work have been helping me learn some things here and there. For example:

Nem minden szarka farka tarka, csak a tarka farkú szarka farka tarka.

It means, not all kinds of magpies have medley tails, only the medley-tailed kind of magpie has medley tails. Useful. I know. But hey at least it sounds cool!!!

I know ya’ll have seen this a ton… but I don’t mind posting it because it is SO DARN FUNNY!!

What is even funnier is when you Elf someone who maybe doesn’t exactly fit the profile… like… my geeky friend Luke for example… heehee. Ahhhh ,Luke. You know you like it.
